Plugins and the marketplace
The developer programme and marketplace are being built now. This page describes how they will work; details may change before launch.
For developers
- Developer accounts are separate from CRM accounts. Sign up, pay the yearly developer fee per developer seat, and get sandbox workspaces and API keys to build with.
- Plugins declare the data they need (scopes). When a workspace installs one, its admin approves those scopes, and the plugin receives a key limited to them.
- Pricing: publish free plugins, or set a monthly price per workspace. SmartContact bills the customer and pays you your share.
- Categories help customers find your plugin, and you can pay to feature it at the top of the marketplace for a week.
- Every version is reviewed before it is listed, including what data it uses and where that data goes.
For customers
- Browse the marketplace inside SmartContact and install a plugin in one click, after checking what it can access.
- Uninstall at any time; its access stops at once.
