Referral programme terms
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms explain the SmartContact referral programme. They form part of the Terms of Service between your organisation and OHF Consulting Ltd, trading as SmartContact CRM (“we”, “us”). Words defined in the Terms of Service mean the same here.
1. How it works
1.1 Admins of a SmartContact workspace (the “Referrer”) can find the workspace’s referral link in the app under Settings › Refer a business.
1.2 A “Referred Customer” is an organisation that opens the referral link and, from it, creates its first SmartContact workspace. The person creating it must be new to SmartContact and must not be a User of the Referrer’s workspace.
1.3 For 12 months from the Referred Customer’s first paid invoice, the Referrer earns credit equal to 20% of each amount the Referred Customer pays us for SmartContact (the “Credit”).
1.4 The Referrer’s admins can see, in the app, the name of each Referred Customer’s workspace, the date it was created, whether it is paying yet, and the Credit it has earned. They cannot see anything else about it.
2. What counts
2.1 Credit is worked out on what the Referred Customer actually pays, excluding VAT and other taxes. Free trials, complimentary periods and unpaid invoices earn nothing.
2.2 Amounts paid for third-party plugins in the Marketplace, which mostly go to their developers, do not count.
2.3 If we refund a payment, or a payment is reversed through a chargeback, the matching Credit is taken back. If it has already been used, the amount is added to the Referrer’s next invoice.
2.4 Credit is rounded down to the nearest penny.
3. Using Credit
3.1 Credit is added to the Referrer’s SmartContact billing account automatically, normally when the Referred Customer’s payment goes through. It is taken off the Referrer’s future SmartContact invoices before any card is charged.
3.2 Credit has no cash value. It cannot be paid out, exchanged, transferred to another workspace or sold. It stays on the billing account while the Referrer’s workspace is open, and ends if the workspace is closed or deleted.
3.3 Credit can build up while the Referrer is on the free Basic plan and is used once the Referrer pays for Standard or any add-on.
4. Fair use
4.1 Share your link honestly. You must not:
- refer yourself, your own organisation, a group company, or a workspace you control;
- offer cash or other rewards to people for signing up;
- send unsolicited bulk email or messages, bid on “SmartContact” search terms in paid advertising, or suggest that you speak for SmartContact;
- use fake identities, or create workspaces only to earn Credit.
4.2 Each Referred Customer can have only one Referrer. The first referral link used when the workspace is created is the one that counts, and a referral cannot be added afterwards.
4.3 If we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, we may withhold or remove Credit and remove the Referrer from the programme. We will tell you why.
5. Changes and ending the programme
5.1 We may change or end the programme on at least 30 days’ notice. Credit already earned stays on your billing account. Referred Customers who signed up before the change keep earning Credit under the terms that applied when they signed up, unless we end the programme altogether, in which case Credit stops at the end of the notice period.
5.2 Credit is a discount on our services, not income paid to you. You are responsible for any tax treatment that applies to you.
