Partner programme terms

Last updated 25 October 2026

These terms explain the SmartContact partner programme. They add to the Referral programme terms and the Terms of Service between your organisation and OHF Consulting Ltd, trading as SmartContact CRM (“we”, “us”). Words defined in those terms mean the same here. Where these terms and the Referral programme terms differ, these terms apply to Partners.

1. Who can join

1.1 The programme is open to SmartContact customers only: an organisation must have its own active SmartContact workspace (on any plan) and keep it open to stay in the programme.

1.2 It is for firms that advise or support other businesses, such as accountants, bookkeepers, IT providers (MSPs) and consultants.

1.3 An admin of the workspace applies in the app under Settings › Refer a business. We review every application and may accept or decline it at our discretion. An accepted organisation is a “Partner”.

2. What Partners earn

2.1 Referral credit. For each Referred Customer that signs up through the Partner’s referral link, the Partner earns 20% of what that Referred Customer pays us for SmartContact, excluding VAT, for 12 months from its first paid invoice. Credit is only earned once each payment has actually been made, as set out in the Referral programme terms.

2.2 Credit only, never cash. Credit is taken off the Partner’s next SmartContact invoices. It is never paid out in cash, has no cash value and cannot be transferred.

2.3 Credit pays your own bills. There is no free plan for Partners. Credit comes off the Partner’s SmartContact invoices (for example its Standard subscription), and any credit left over carries forward to future invoices until it is used. Credit can build up while the Partner is on the free Basic plan, as set out in the Referral programme terms.

3. Setting clients up

3.1 Partners may help their clients choose, set up and use SmartContact. Each client’s workspace must belong to the client: the client creates it through the Partner’s link and is its owner. A Partner must not create workspaces for clients in its own name, or refer itself, a group company or a workspace it controls.

3.2 Partners must not cold call or send unsolicited marketing emails or messages about SmartContact, bid on “SmartContact” in paid search, offer discounts or terms we have not agreed, or suggest they speak for us. Partners may say they are a SmartContact partner.

3.3 Data protection: each client is responsible for its own workspace data. If a Partner has access to a client’s workspace, it does so as that client’s user, under the client’s instructions.

4. Reporting

4.1 Partners can see their referred workspaces, which of them are paying and the credit earned under Settings › Refer a business. We keep monthly records of referrals and credit per Partner.

5. Suspension and ending

5.1 We may suspend or remove a Partner that breaks these terms or the Referral programme terms, and may withhold or remove credit earned through a breach. We will tell the Partner why. A suspended Partner keeps the ordinary referral programme unless we say otherwise.

5.2 A Partner may leave the programme at any time by emailing us. Credit already earned stays on its billing account.

5.3 We may change or end the programme on at least 30 days’ notice, as in the Referral programme terms.

5.4 Credit is a discount on our services, not income paid to the Partner. The Partner is responsible for any tax treatment that applies to it.
